As I young child, I would often wonder if my friends and family saw the same colors that I saw, and if they experienced sounds the same way that I experienced them. This curiosity led me to explore novels and plays, philosophical works, and various religions and cultures. I wanted understand how our experiences and senses influence how we interpret the world. My childhood pursuits culminated in a Bachelor's of Arts in Theatre with a Religious Studies minor. Afterwards, I continued exploring human experiences through the lens of food and drink as a tea brewer, line cook, barback, and barista.
I later went back to school to further my academic exploration of human experience through a Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, along with certificates in Trauma Counseling, Somatic Trauma Healing, and ADHD Clinical Services. In my work as a therapist, I bring multiple years of professional experience supporting survivors of intimate partner violence and developing trainings in trauma-informed care. To these professional pursuits and experiences, I add personal experience and interest in the nuances involved in healthy sexual development, polyamory, and kink.
As a queer and trans therapist, I am deeply aware of the ways in which our society can foster and enact harm upon individuals and communities. I therefore keep an awareness and curiosity of intersectionality at the forefront of my work.Â
